Presenting a round-up of the project director's special related developments during 2023, 2024 and 2025

The project director met and questioned famous guests at specific events.
The project director had an opportunity to attend several events and had a chance to meet or question different special guests. This includes Sir Trevor McDonald, Roman Kemp, Dr Shani Dhanda, Lucy Edwards & Amy Pohl

In mid-2023, the project director became an event panellist for the first time
My involvement was part of a special autistic awareness event organised by the University of Birmingham.

Special welfare consultation participation
In late 2023, the project director attended a public consultation organised by the Department for Work and Pensions on some proposals for changing the work capability assessment to enable mortgage abilities into employment. In addition, a specially created publication was made which provides analysis through the bigger picture to encourage disabilities into employment.

Featured with awareness charity
The project director was interviewed for a special feature for autism awareness event
The regional and support charity Autism West Midlands develop an article of the project director in an interview for supporting World Autism Acceptance Month in 2025.

Attending special City legacy event
In March 2025, the project director attended a special showcase event which highlighted several diverse and cultural projects for the communities since Birmingham hosted the Commonwealth Games.

Important complaint action
After participating in a major consultation to make some changes to the country's welfare system, the project director took action in April 2024 against the previous government as he felt his voice was ignored and not considered in the consultation. This was after key government ministers made discriminatory and offensive stigma against disabilities.

The project director developed a special representation publication
In late 2024 an especially written document which provides insight and analysis on the challenges on the representation of disabilities with public authorities and the media.

Project director feature on travel safety awareness video
In spring 2025, Keith McKenzie was featured on a special awareness video produced by national diversity training in connection with Transport for West Midlands and West Midlands Safer Travel Partnership

Travel safety education video involvement
In spring 2025, The project director took part in a video education awareness project for Transport for West Midlands, providing insight and guidance for front line travel safety staff and management about neurodivergent experiences related to safety on public transport.

Presenting a round up of awareness projects and developments by the project director in 2023, 2024 and 2025

The project director introduced dancing related projects and features

A new online feature was launched in early 2023 which presents dancing related awareness projects, publications and insight articles. The feature titled "Embrace Dancing" was developed to enable inclusive dancing environments. This appears on the website of the Plus Value Awareness and the project director's website.

To coincide the launch of the Embrace Dancing feature, a new information awareness project "Inclusive to dance" with tips and guidance to improve inclusivity at dancing environments and music related events. It includes a family of downloadable inclusive pledges for all passionate dancing environments.

Also on the "Embrace Dancing" feature, Inclusive dancing suggestions documents were developments for Latin partner related dancing environments.

In 2024 and 2025 a themed awareness special was presented as an addition to the Embrace Dancing feature and on social media for supporting two annual dancing events Autism Dance Day and International Dance Day. In 2024 the theme was "Dancing with an Open Mind", to encourage dancers to widen how they judge and treat other dancers with differing abilities.

The theme for 2025 is "Unify Dancing, not divide". Focusing on the importance of not dividing or excluding dancers with differing abilities.

Since October 2024, a number of several improvements and transformations have been made on the Plus Value Awareness website.
This includes the completion of reorganising the online for supporting events (Events+) and presuming both size projects (Diverse Differences). A redesign of the information and guidance feature Unity Forward and reorganising online content which is replacing the former project value is.

Awareness transformation
As part of the changes, a rebrand of the presentation and identity for Plus value awareness. This is part of a wider transformation across all the parts of the Aware+Vision family.

The special online feature "Differences Originals" has started to receive some online improvements. This includes an introduction of a specialised project called "Smarter Understanding", it replaced the previous project "Moving Forwards" including "Sense of Value"

To coincide the redesign of the information and encouragement feature 'Unity Forward" the insight and analysis document linked with the features has been updated and modified and it is available for everyone to download and view online.

Six years since the launch, the information project related to mental health (titled "Don't Underestimate Metal Health" was given a makeover and a new look to the online webpages.

As part of the same project a themed online special called "We cannot simplify metal health" it was a response to the distorted comments from high profile people

Presenting a round-up of creative projects and developments by the project director in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

A series of additional family of visual art was created online for supporting awareness events during 2024 and 2025. This includes support events related to Neurodiversity, individual's specific difficulties and focused awareness
areas (including mental health, hate crime and equality)

Awareness transformation
In late 2023, the awareness initiative Plus Value Awareness received a rebrand and presentation makeover. The new look is centred around the curved triangle concept. As part of the changes, the awareness website received some
design and presentation changes. This includes an updated look at the existing online projects and some changes to some of the online features. This includes a redesign of awareness projects (don't underestimate mental health and good practice)with the development
of new projects. This includes a new style of visual language used for the online feature Higher Aspirations and for presenting customised projects and information with focused areas of hidden differences.

Interactive portfolio & showcase Interactive organiser
Since 2023 onwards the project director has developed a series of digital documents with an interactive interface. The concept was inspired by news broadcasts with interactive touchpoint displays when displaying major stories,
statistics and election results.
It started as a trial as a showcase document. It was for attending events for networking purposes with displaying different examples of projects and developments similar to a portfolio.
Then it expanded further as a volunteering organiser. This was used for the project director volunteering roles for the Birmingham-based Latin dancing conventions. Also, an interactive creative portfolio was developed.

The marketing materials for the community-based dance class, salsa with Pauline, were updated from late 2024 onwards. It started with promoting a special thank you event in December 2024. Then new style marketing for general classes began to appear from January 2025 onwards.

Presenting a round-up of participation projects and developments by the project director in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Transport health & safety meetings
In 2023, 2024 & 2025 the project director had a series of awareness meetings on addressing factors on Neurodivergent perspective and changing related to safety using public transport. This was with Paul Franks, the travel safety manager at Transport for West Midlands. In addition, the project director also met with Paul Franks at a public event by Transport Focus when Keith also met with Transport for West Midlands chief executive Anne Shaw.

In addition to Transport for West Midlands, the project director has met with accessibility managers for both National Express and West Midlands Trains to develop suggestions for a more accommodating transport environment for neurodivergent passengers. This led to attending a railways showcase event at Wolverhampton station in June 2024.

Event panellist
In June 2023, the project director, Keith McKenzie, was part of a seminar for the first time. This was for the University of Birmingham on autism awareness.

DWP consultation
In the autumn of 2023, the project director took part in the public consultation on the planned changes for the Department for Work and Pensions for removing specific assessments while enabling disability off the benefits into work. As part of the consultation, he also published an analysis and insight document on his response.

Presenting a round-up of events which the project director has attended and networked related to design, awareness, community and diversity

Leveling up disability in the West Midlands
A one-off event by the West Midlands Combined Authority to include disability of all types about access opportunities in employment, education and enterprise.
In 2024, the project director attended a special expo event to celebrate International Women's Day, which was the largest event of this type in the UK. This took place at Birmingham's Millennium Point.
Two events were attended by the Neurodiversity organisation SIC. This includes the event Disability in the Workplace in 2023 at Warwick University (in Coventry) and the SIC Conference in 2024 at Birmingham Metropolitan College (Matthew Bolton Campus)

Several events were attended at Birmingham's NEC in
2023 and 2024
Including the Dyslexia Show, two years in a row, Health & Wellbeing and the Autism Show. Also attending the Disability expo "Naidex" for two years in a row and the Photography Video show.
At the University of Birmingham, the project director participated in a special workshop to develop solutions in open spaces to improve accessibility for neurodivergent individuals.

Project Director featured in a leading cultural current affairs newspaper

During February 2023 the project director of the Aware+Vision proposal, Keith Mckenzie have been featured in an article for "The Voice" Newspaper.

The story was written by the paper's midlands journalist and contributor Veron Graham.

The story covers expressions from Keith Mckenzie's different aspects, his personal experiences, insight and aspirations.

It includes Keith's personal challenges & obstacles living with being black and with Asperger Syndrome, the challenges. How became nominated for a regional mental health award back in 2017, my awareness projects (with Plus Value Awareness) and his involvement in the commonwealth-related video campaign.

This edition of the voice newspaper featuring Keith McKenzie is available at newsstands around the UK during February. The Voice newspapers subscribers can able to access the newspaper and the story featuring me online.

New style Awareness digial templates

A new family of awareness-related digital templates was developed and being rolled out to appear as social media posts for Plus Value Awareness social media channels.

The specially developed templates aimed to encourage social media to discover the range of projects, information, features and many more from the Plus Value Awareness website.

The first batch of 96 digital templates is developed to cover different aspects of the Plus Value Awareness initiative:

A family of extracts from a particular project & campaign cover a variety of information, guidance and reminders

Projects to discover

An encouragement to take a look at particular projects. In addition, a family of templates to discover elements within a particular project.

The aim is to encourage the social media audience to explore the range of projects, information and online features. The new looks are not just a makeover but also a change to approach, especially with encouraging messages on the templates which encourage to discover specific projects & features.

The presentation style of the template was based on an initial trial posted in early 2022. Due to some major shake-up to the online projects and features, a new family of templates was needed to match the online changes. (Especially with the introduction of Zero Toxic and the Enhancement to the existing Advantage project). As well as appearing on the Plus Value Awareness social media changes the new templates will also appear on the Differences Originals Facebook page.

More examples are to be developed including from the online feature “Events+” (after the transformation of the feature is complete.) Also, extracts of articles are to be added from the insight blogs on Tumblr.

In addition, new style vertical templates are to be developed for the stories feature of the Plus Value Awareness Instagram profile. It will feature some examples of the new general social media templates.

More extracts are to be added from the delivered exclusive projects, specially made to support specific awareness events.

The Plus Value awareness initiative is a family of projects, information & campaigns about challenges to understanding and awareness for people with invisible difficulties, to see more human rather than medical aspects and to promote and educate a better sense of value. Hidden differences are used to describe independent people which live with specific neurological difficulties or Anxiety which is not noticed. This is associated with moderate or mild psychological and learning-related conditions (including a mild form of autism through to, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD & Social Anxiety).

The online feature contains a family of specialised projects with a different perspective compared to the general Plus Values Awareness projects. Also, Differences Originals presents a family of legacy projects created by Keith Mckenzie Since 2000.

A second special article featuring the project director was developed during the autumn months of 2022 for an awareness campaigner legend for the Give Us A Break campaign during Anti-Bullying Week

The article is for the website of Anna Kennedy OBE, one of the UK & the World’s leading awareness campaigners for embracing the positives of the Autistic Spectrum.

The article includes expressions on this edition of the online special for Give Us A Break was developed. It provides a summary of the contents. This includes four original articles and recommended projects. Also, the article featured a summary of information on the launch of the new awareness projects during the week of the Give Us A Break campaign. The Zero Toxic project provides information, guides and campaign-style messages against prejudice bullying discrimination and hatred. Not only for the autistic spectrum but also ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety

Introducing Zero Toxic

Plus Value Awareness presents a new marketing style awareness project is launched. “Zero Toxic” is designed to provide a family of strong and effective messages and information to combat prejudice bullying, discrimination and hatred.

The project presents a variety of topics compared to the online project it replaces.
The project goes beyond areas such as verbal abuse, bullying, physical assault and hatred. He also covers mistreatment examples, including subtle types of manipulation, disruptive exploitation and other types of mistreatment examples which is not necessarily obvious to many.

The new project is presented under a variety of features to discover

Zero Toxic Pledge
The list of suggestions and actions to combat bullying, discrimination prejudice and hatred.

Toxic Examples
This section provides a variety of different examples of mistreatment at a variety of levels. Further information is to be added on a gradual basis.

Factors
This is divided into seven areas with a family of short messages which everyone needs to do to take responsibility against bullying palace discrimination and hatred.

Difficulties and mistreatment
This section focuses on examples of how difficult it affects those with hidden differences and how this can lead to mistreatment.

Time to act and speak up.
This provides a summary of guidelines and tips when bullying, discrimination and hated occurs. This provided guides for hidden differences, the general public, any personal contacts and along with leaders and management of specific inclusive environments such as education employment, communities and volunteering.

Further developments are to be created for the Zero Toxic project, including an insight and analysis document, visual art by the project director and marketing materials for the project (including posters flyers and leaflets)

The evolving presentation of this project will evolve further with a special version of this project will appear on a special web page which will expand the project to all types of disabilities regardless if the person is visible or non-visible.

Aspects of the project are planned to evolve further by presenting the message of the zero toxic project to communities, businesses, public services and society with a series of presentations, workshops, exhibitions, and displays customised to specific types of environments and circumstances.

A family of special insight and analysis documents over the 21 years of awareness progress since the project director started awareness projects back in 2000.

Also, available for download is one of the special suggestions document called Beyond Understanding which is aimed to improve exclusivity at partner dancing environments at a salsa, bachata and kizomba. This includes classes and social nights. This was originally shared with the salsa dancing organisations Latinmotion in Birmingham and ManboCity in London.

These families of documents are linked with potential social mission activities as part of the social enterprise proposal under Aware+Vision. Examples include presentations, exhibitions and workshops. Intended to influence a more accommodating society to leaders and decision-makers in communities, business and the wider society.

Video campaign featuring project director

You can now view the video campaign featuring the project director of Plus Value Awareness, Keith Mckenzie. The video campaign "Be Your Personal Best" with interviewing a variety of different community participants and influencers of Birmingham. This is part of "Be Bold, Be Birmingham", a year-long campaign to showcase the host city of the commonwealth games and to provide a positive legacy beyond the games.

In the video, The Project Director shared different insights on projects and developments past, present and future. The video was filmed in June at Broadway Dance Centre in Perry Barr. The same district of Alexandra Stadium, the main venue for the games, where hosted the Athletics along with the opening and closing ceremonies. There was a period of time checks ahead of any approval online.

Providing inclusive solutions for dancing convenetions

An updated family of "Beyond understanding" inclusive suggestions of salsa-related dancing environments. It is featured information and guidance from the awareness feature Plus Value Awareness.

These documents were developed after my experiences as a volunteer, participant and attendee for many years at the conventions Motioncity and Latinmotion's NYE Fest. Both events occurred annually near Birmingham's NEC.

In preparation for my involvement in this year's salsa convention "Motioncity," I have developed an updated edition of suggestions documents which provides possibilities and solutions to improve inclusivity to make sure attendees and volunteers living with hidden differences (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety) is not a disadvantage.

A family of two 20-page suggestions are developed including general and volunteering guides. Because many suggestions make take a long term to implement mini short-term suggestion document are created for volunteering to improve supportive volunteering environments.

Each document provides examples of how a person's difficulties can be affected by situations and environments. Also provides possibilities for making a series of adjustments to make sure everyone has positive experiences regardless of ability or background.

These documents have been shared with the Birmingham teams of the Motioncity family in advance of the event in August. After the initial short-term suggestion, hopefully, further possibilities can be developed for later in the year for December during Latinmotion's NYE Fest during the New Year.

In the long term, there is a desire to share the suggestions guides to other dancing conventions and festivals around the country.

Creative Projects using smart technology

A new groundbreaking approach to creative projects generated from smart devices for the first time. This evolved from a trail back in 2020 using tablet devices.

This leads to two completed showing projects which include:

Carbon Footprint

The marketing concept presents a visual approach to how the state of our planet depends on our actions.

Crystal Heart

This project was inspired by the heart shape and the rainbow curves used to appreciate the essential workers during the pandemic. A concept with a sophisticated interpretation of a family of social responsibility messaging using a crystal heart concept and various visual effects.

Both projects were originally developed as a trial creative application on an Android tablet. Then the concept was recreated on professional creative applications using Apple's tablet devices which was competed onto desktop software.

This is the biggest shake-up of how design projects are generated and developed. More projects will be using this approach in the future.

Dance Studio Marketing with Gold Stanards

A family of marketing materials has been developed at a dance studio.

This is developed for Broadway dance centre in Perry Barr located in the same District in Birmimgham where the commonwealth games take place during the summer of 2022. The collecting of marketing materials including a family of flyers, posters, outdoor banners and large posters for outdoor poster frames located outside the studio. With the combination of the commonwealth games nearby and the historical heritage of the studio, the design focuses on gold silver colours and floating stars. This is associated with professionalism and star quality standards of classes. This is the second edition of marketing materials the previous version was made in 2018.

As part of the schedule, the team from Salsa with Pauline house a dance class one day a week. To coincide with the gold and silver concept for the Broadway dance centre, a special version of salsa marketing posters was created using the gold and silver theme.

This project is an example of a social mission activity which can benefit communites

Marketing banner for dancing claseses

A promotional outdoor banner for a community dancing class.

A full colour outdoor promotional banner was developed for the community activity group Salsa with Pauline.

It is displayed outside one of the two venues in Birmingham, where the classes take place. The information displayed the day and the time of the salsa class.

The design adopted the presentation style used for marketing materials onto posters, flyers and social media.

The classes take place every weekend, twice a week at two different venues bringing accessibility with a healthy and active dancing activity to local communities.

The aim is to increase the awareness of the classes and to encourage the local community and for citizens who visit the local areas to attend.

The banner is a new version of a design, originally created back in early 2020 but was never used due to the pandemic restrictions.

In addition to the outdoor banner, a family of promotional materials was developed.

The project director, Keith Mckenzie has been chosen to be featured in a community video campaign related to the commonwealth games in Birmingham.

Despite he has been featured on projects by other people and organisations, this will be the first time ever he featured focused on himself.

This is related to “Be Your Personal Best” a digital campaign part of the Birmingham city council’s year-long “Be bold, Be Birmingham” campaign to showcase the city and local communities ahead of the games in July.

Keith will appear in a video interview on his involvement, developments and participation. Along with my personal insight, past, present, my ambitions and future development. Also, there will be something extra to be confirmed.

When the production is completed, the project director on the “Be Your Personal Best” will be featured on Birmingham City Council’s social media channels during the games this July & beyond. The post could potentially not only reach the city residents and around the UK but also commonwealth visitors, contending teams and athletes from around the world participating in the games.

The Awareness feature Plus Value Awareness presents the fifth edition of the awareness pop-up showcase feature is developed and the second edition of 2022.

This edition supports awareness events includles World Autism Acceptance Week, World Autism Acceptance and Awareness Day, World Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month and Stress Awareness Month.

A total of 3 original content was developed with two additional content overlapped from the week into April for this online special presented as "April Showcase".

For World Autism Acceptance and Awareness Day and World Autism Acceptance and Awareness Month, a showcase and insight article to provide a focused topic to consider including "The to end the stigma" & "time to break the no boundary"

Inclusive Differences is launched

Inclusive Differences is a new Plus Value Awareness information project which explores the importance of inclusivity.

The information is broken down into focus areas the human aspects of inclusivity with points for everyone to consider. It also explores factors that can affect any progress that everyone needs to do to maintain inclusivity. A family of guidance and tips are also developed for hidden differences, the general public along with any contacts of hidden differences.

Futher developments are planned for the project, including Marketing Posters, digital education materials, PowerPoint presentations and guides.

In addition, focused editions are planned for the projects. One of the first examples is to encourage inclusive dancing environments for hidden differences. Specifically related to partner dance work like Salsa and Bachata.

As part of the Plus Value Awareness initiative initiative, an information project which explores to value a person with hidden differences is now expanded with the new e lements.

This incorporates a family of 6 focused examples to explore the importance of valuing hidden differences. This includes Dignity, Expressions, Adjustments, Not tight boxed, natural along with black & white presumptions.

The project home page has been enhanced with the new links of an element's options.

More to come
Further developments are planned, including digital education materials, PowerPoint presentation and guides.

Over a period of time an additional family of new elements to be added.

The project was launched in October 2019 with the Focused version to support Black History Month under Value Multicultural Hidden Differences. Then in October 2020, further focused versions was created under the Valuing Hidden Differences title, customised for the conditions Dyslexia, Dyspraxia & ADHD for supporting the awareness events during October.
Completing the development of the project with a new family if elements. The majority of the elements was transferred from the outgoing project "Value is" with enhanced infomation.

A family of awareness specials to combat bullying

As part of my awareness initiative, a second of a series of showcase feature has been made focusing against bullying for Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety.

Changes in supporting Awareness events

Some changes have started to appear within the Plus Value Awareness Website.

The online content on supporting awareness events are being transferred to a new online feature.

Events+ is a new online home on information projects and other content to supporting awareness. This includes a new events+ showcase blog with original showcase articles to support each event. Also a new family of Showcase pop-up online feature during months of multiple events relevant to hidden differences. The showcase feature will present the showcase articles and exclusive projects to support the specific event. In addition, the feature will be the place of new projects to coincide supporting a particular event.

As part of the changes, some of the existing web pages will be transferred to the new events+ feature (from the Diverse Differences feature) with a new look and additional improvements.

This will affect the existing following web pages:
Awareness Calendar
Improvements are being phased on with a new colour coding to displaying different events.

Supporting Awareness Events page (list)
The page will gradually receive a new look.

The information pages on supporting events
These pages will receive a new look enhanced with more content & links added.
Including links to the specific showcase and showcase which are to be updated annually. It will also provide links to projects to discover as part of the Plus Value Awareness family.
These pages will be presented flexibly with the showcase & exclusive projects to be prominent when the specific events are active.
The new look is to be developed on a gradual basis within the next 12 months as part of transferring to the new Events+ page.

Social Media
Also, a new style of social media status templates in supporting different events using the colour coding system. This is shown on the Plus Value Awareness social media channels.

The articles featured on the events+ blog will be available all year round to be updated regularly with supporting each event.

Despite the transferring of some existing web pages, the diverse differences feature will continue to present empowering projects online. The diverse exclusive index and pages will continue to appear with the Diverse Differences feature.

The new changes are designed to be flexible, adaptable clearer with more original content in supporting awareness events.

In the long term Events+ will be an important marketing tool for Aware+Vision to promote Plus Value Awareness projects and potential services and products.

A special "Unity Forward" insight document have been developed for the feature Plus Value Awareness. It is based on the online information and encouragement feature which was created earlier this year regarding how life affected hidden differences in the pandemic and beyond.

New Look with a one family approach

You may have noticed a change in brand identity

The changes have been made for several reasons. Firstly to streamline and prioritise what Aware+Vision can offer as a social enterprise. This was after receiving guidance from a social enterprise expert. The reason is to develop a one family presentation with unifying the feature brands within the Aware+Vision family. This is developed while maintaining the individual merit of the feature brands for the specific target audience.

Not only the the umbrella identity being updated, the feature brands are being updated as a vital component to strengthening the multi-purpose element of the social enterprise proposal with closer ties between the features and main Aware+Vision identity. This is especially when social mission projects are developed. This affects the features Plus Value Awareness, Focused Projects by Keith McKenzie and the proposed designed items brand "Feodes".

Please note the Differences Originals (formally Differences Autism Challenge) brand will be reduced and become presented only as an awareness sub-brand within Plus Value Awareness. This decision was made on simplifying the portfolio on what Aware+Vision can potentially offer to communities, society and business.

A major review was developed from June onwards on this awareness initiative and how can be efficient in generating & maintain interest and improvement of opportunities.

The awareness feature presented a special online feature for Plus Value Awareness initiative specifically developed during the pandemic period and beyond

The special "Unity Forward" feature contains a family of information, guidance and encouragement for individuals with hidden differences (autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyslexia and Social Anxiety) along with families, friends, contacts and the community.

During the previous two previous pandemic lockdowns in 2020, several voices keep appearing that many people living with disabilities (whether visible or invisible) have been ignored and therefore they can be made to feel undervalued and insignificant.

The Director of Plus Value Awareness, Keith Mckenzie wanted to use this special feature to start changing the narrative with a message direction of being more inclusive, accommodating and improve value individuals with autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, dyspraxia and social anxiety.

The feature is broken down into a family of different elements.

A family of digital templates has been created as status posts for the Plus Value Awareness social media channels. Which contains extracts from the unity forward feature.

Further information to be added on an eventual basis.

The unity forward feature isn't just developed with short term but also to be developed further in the longer term after the pandemic period has passed.

Because they have been many changes in how society functions it is very important that was changing society must not be a disadvantage for independent people with hidden differences. A family of specialised information documents is to be developed including insight reports and inclusive guidelines be on the pandemic.

The objective of this awareness feature is hopefully feel the gap to improve value and inclusivity for hidden differences during the pandemic period & beyond.

To mark World human rights day (10th December 2020) a combination of a first-ever online human rights special and two new awareness projects was developed in late 2020 for the awareness features Plus Value Awareness and Differences Originals. These were developed with one thing in common, to inform and to embrace value with dignity and human rights towards individuals living with hidden differences (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety). The feature appeared online between 10th December 2020 & 3rd January 2021

Human Rights Special

The online special feature was created to mark world human rights day (10th December) & throughout December. Providing specialised awareness projects, elements & information focusing on on value, dignity and human rights.

On this first ever edition of the human rights special so cases to new awareness projects. See below for details.

Exploring five areas to do with a positive sense of value towards hidden differences.

Value & Dignity

The project focuses on the importance of valuing the lives of those living with autism and other hidden differences focusing on dignity and human rights.

The two new awareness projects are the first new Differences Originals Project since it became part of the plus value awareness family in 2015. Also these new projects complete the 20th Anniversary of providing awareness projects since 2000.

The next step is to develop these new featured projects further as part of education, training and and empowering activity. In a long term is to provide services comma social mission and social activity responsibilities in communities and to the rest of society.

Providing a family of online awareness specials during October.

For the third year in a row, a family of special online content had been developed in supporting a series of awareness events during October.

This is for the aware element, Plus Value awareness, the awareness initiative is developed which enables to improve understanding of the human aspects of selecting neurological difficulties along with social anxiety.

This year the feature is presented as Diverse Differences October Awareness. New projects and information is added for the 2020 edition.

The new Valuing Differences is developed to focus on the importance of valuing independent adults with a family of hidden differences. The project begins with specialised mini-projects focusing on specific conditions for ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Also, the existing project value multicultural differences (is now part of this family of projects) is updated and enhanced with additional content.

The October awareness special incorporates five mini special features link to supporting specific awareness events.

Supporting ADHD awareness month providing specialised and customised products and information related to the human aspects of ADHD.

Dyslexia October special

Supporting Dyslexia Week, World Dyslexia Day and Dyslexia Awareness Month. providing specialised and customised products and information related to the human aspects of Dyslexia.

Supporting Dyspraxia Awareness Week, providing specialised and customised products and information related to the human aspects of Dyspraxia.

Mental Health & Social Anxiety October special

A new umbrella name towards enterprise

The new name & new look for social enterprise replaces Plus Value Fusion.

Aware+Vision is designed to deliver with a family of projects for business, public services and communities. Including Plus Value Awareness, Differences Originals, Focused Projects by Keith McKenzie and Feodes Creative Items.

Why the changes to be made as the previous identity and previous kind of services and social mission has to the negative perception and appeared too commercialised for a social enterprise and negative comments as not desirable enough.

As well as the rebrand, a new line-up of potential services, products and clear distinctions with the social mission activity. Examples of new additions to the line up including design for environments & materials and Excellence Awarding (both examples as a social mission activity).

The existing Facebook and Twitter profiles are being rebranded.

The other social media pages linked with the features of the Aware+Vision family will display extracts of potential services, products & social mission activity with web links to this website.

The new changes are made to have a clearer vision of what can be offered in connecting with society.

Salsa classes with added colour

A new family of poster marketing materials was developed for "Salsa with Pauline" classes. The updated design is developed in full colour on marketing printed posters, an Outdoor banner and digital posters design (to promote onto its social media pages & chat groups)

Crystal Heart project

A new creative experiment using creative interpretations around a specific stylised item. The idea came from the use of the rainbow colours during the coronavirus pandemic to support the UK's National Health Service to embrace value & unity. The project is under development and will be online soon.

A summary on participation related summary over the past few months

Discovering possibilities on dancing inclusivity

Since publishings a guidance and possibilities documents for Birmingham salsa organisation, a discussion was made on how the ideas could be possible with the Latinmotion team with the past recent months. "Beyond Understanding" a Plus Value Awareness information and suggestions guide which enables better inclusive environments for neurological hidden differences was shared to Latinmotion towards the end of 2019. This lead to additional suggestions from the team during February & March of 2020.

The materials were developed following my observations as a volunteer to the Salsa dancing conventions at the NEC during August and the New Year.

Evolving my participant in dance classes

My participation with the "Salsa with Pauline" classes has evolved.

Since March the community-based salsa classes expanded to the Soho area of Birmingham at a Social club on Saturday. Meanwhile, the classes on Sunday remains in the Perry Barr area at a dance studio.

Since Spring 2019 I have been involved with the Salsa with Pauline class as an experienced helper. This developed a friendship with one of the leading members after attending classes over a number of years in the Birmingham Area

Major Awareness Renaming

A Major name change to maintain the awareness legacy after 20 years.

On the 20th Anniversary of providing awareness projects, the fundamental awareness brand has changed to a new name. Differences Originals is a new name to replace Differences & Autism Challenge.

The changes have been made because the autism challenge name has been used negatively by the social media TikTok which used the name to display horrifying & offensive video trends which discriminate against Autistic people of all ages & background.

This has caused major harm to the hard work I have done to challenge society’s attitudes. This is especially with 2020 is a double anniversary year of providing awareness projects, campaigns & activity.

So a decision has been made to distance from the insulting stigma with rebranding lead to the new name Differences Originals.

The name chosen as this awareness is the original family of awareness content since the year 2000. Also, future will original awareness content with a different angle and perspective in the Plus Value Awareness family.

The Rebranding

The Differences Originals rebranding have started to take place on the Differences pages of the Plus Value Awareness website.

The Social Media statues templates are being rebranded which contains captures of Differences Originals project and campaigns. This will appear on posted on the social media channels Plus Value Awareness (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) and Differences (Facebook).

The Differences Facebook page receive a temporary branding profile & cover images until the remaining is approved when the new identity can be displayed.

The Project Gallery images within Differences Originals online will receive updated filter branding. This will appear within the project pages.

Special Anniversiary Year

2020 is a special year. This year is 20 years ago since a series of awareness projects, initiatives and activities. But that's not all it is a double anniversary between the two awareness brands with 20 years of "Differences Originals" (formerly Differences Autism Challenge) and 5 years of "Plus Value Awareness".

Plans for 2020

Within 2020 a series of special projects, features & activities to be planned this year.

Special online feature

A special feature is available online within 2020 "Plus Value Awareness" awareness website which will include special celebration content of both "Plus Value Awareness" and "Differences Originals".

Special anniversary projects

A family of special projects to be developed to mark the double awareness anniversary. At least two new projects confirm and more to appear during the year.

Value & Dignity

This project is developing is to emphasise the importance of value a person with differences with dignity and to address these issues why society needs to improve to make that happen. This project will be presented as an online campaign, education resources, lobby suggestions in society. Also, special awareness PowerPoint presentations to be made and special insight documents.

A digital art project to visual Interpretation of the 5 senses of value fundamentals linked with Plus Value Awareness initiative.

Background

The awareness projects was originally focused on the autistic spectrum and then in 2009, the initiative expanded to other hidden differences after feedback with some of the issues applies to those who don't live with Autism.

The original approach to challenge the main political parties of the United Kingdom has positive policies forward. Then a survey was developed to enable a voice & experiences from individuals of the autism. Then when the initiative switched online in 2006 a series of content which challenges conventional attitudes & understanding of autism & other differences.

Then since 2015 pushing forward the message of a good a sense of value with an aim for society to have a better understanding with more human insight to see a person with differences beyond perception.

Awareness October Returns

The awareness feature which supports several awareness events with special online content in October has returned for the second year running. Awareness October returned for the second year and have expanded to support more events for specific conditions linked with hidden differences.

As well as supporting the awareness events as in 2018 (World Mental Health Day, ADHD Awareness Month and the Awareness Weeks for both Dyslexia & Dyspraxia) the feature expanded to support for the first time Black History Month and National Hate Crime Awareness Week. The special feature also observes Invisible Disability Week.

Within the feature, it contained specialised areas to support each awareness event. Also specialised awareness content. Including a special version of Diverse Achievers for ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety also for ethnic minorities with hidden differences. To concede this year's Awareness October a new “Value all “ project was launched to highlight the issues and life challenge how life affects ethnic minority with hidden differences.

The awareness element of Plus Value Fusion has launched two new online features as part of major changes. Diverse Differences & Understanding is now launched on Plus Value Awareness online.

Diverse Differences, a new permanent empowering & showcase feature. This was after the successful responses of the “Diverse Differences Special” during the spring months when supporting 5 different awareness events during May & June. Now as a permanent feature diverse differences will be the new home of supporting a variety of different awareness events all year round. also, the feature has expanded to now feature the awareness calendar listing all of the events at a glance. this feature will continue to showcase diverse persons of forthcoming or existing plus value awareness projects.

The Understanding series is a new name from the feature previously called understanding invisible disabilities. this feature expands to now include facts figures and statistics of people living with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and social anxiety. This feature will continue to inform understanding information of hidden differences along with the associated conditions. The change has been made because to make sure that the correct target points use the correct feature. For example for individuals living with hidden differences would be appropriate for people with diverse differences to access content that is more relevant to them and which empowers their lives Meanwhile those who require detailed information of hidden differences and the associated conditions would refer to the new understanding series feature.

Both features will Expand with additional content over a period of time. For example for the understanding series two additional content including a simplified information campaign against any misperceptions called be aware. Also a new family of information documents which provides information and guidance relevant to specific environments called beyond understanding. During different major awareness events, the diverse differences feature will provide specialised content to show support of a number of awareness events.

A new special awareness project has been developed to coincide World Mental Health Day (October 10th)

“Don’t underestimate Differences & Mental health” is the new Plus Value Awareness project. It is aimed for society to be more aware of how the human aspects of mental health can cause an impact on independent young people and adults with a family of invisible difficulties.

Mental Health is an ever increasing issue to society & the world. However how mental health affecting invisible difficulties can be easily undermined and disbelieved.

The project features explore through different subject areas. This includes examples of attitudes, compromising dangers through to Sustainable Solutions

This is presented into eight sections & features a pictorial icon to make it easy to navigate each features using a colour coded pictorial illustration.

As well as being featured online marketing posters have been developed for potential marketing of this project.

This project is planned to expand further in the future. Including target versions specifically for the general public and for invisible difficulties presented as an information bite-size guides onto leaflets, foldout flyers and online. Also, a PowerPoint presentation to be developed for potential training and detailed documents for more detailed insight. Both documents are potential services to business, communities and organisations in the future.

Awareness October Launched

Plus Value Awareness initiative including Differences & Autism Challenge has launched a brand new special online feature.

Awareness October is the umbrella features with links to focused cornet linked with different awareness events within the month of October. This including specific annual awareness events for Dyslexia, ADHD & Dyspraxia. Also, World Mental Health Day will happen in October to include the conditions above along with Autism & Social Anxiety.

Each feature will include awareness extracts especially for the particular condition and Mental Health, facts & figures from the Awareness Series feature. Also, an introductory information & linked to the awareness focus element for each featured condition. (Including ADHD Focus, Dyslexia Focus, Dyspraxia Focus & Autism Focus)

This is the biggest special feature with the initiative history and will be the first time special awareness featured has been developed for Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyspraxia and Mental Health. The focused elements of awareness October will appear gradually during the specific awareness events occur.

Behind the scenes many developments has happened for Plus Value Awareness over the past few months. See the information below for details.

1 Prototype awareness documents & materials

A family documents has been developed over a three months period to demonstrate examples on products and services which could be developed in the future based from the key principals of Plus Value Awareness. This ranges from education, training, relationship guidelines, survival guides and personal development tools. From the examples developed, a more focused & customised variations can be made the target audiences at different levels.

2 Project & Information snapshot for Social Media

Developing a family information & project snapshot specially designed for social media. A total of Over 150 snapshot has been developed to display different examples from projects or elements the initiative. With extracts from a particular project including tips & guidelines along with images or visual designs from a particular project with additional examples from online content and documents. The aimed is to improve interest and engagements on social media.

The information & project snapshots will start to appear soon via Plus Value awareness pages on Facebook, Twitter & Google+’

3 Expanding the family information statistics for the feature awareness series.

Expanding the redesign statistics presentation to ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety along with Mental Heath (which affected the majority of invisible difficulties). The completed family is developed after the first version for the autistic spectrum was unveiled during two events in April including world autism awareness day & Autism awareness month.

This will appear on the Plus Value Awareness website soon

4 Modified Content online

Some online information has been slightly modified to include additional information & features. This including adding information pages on examples of products & service documents & materials. This will form part of a online feature which is under development called “The awareness collection” the information feature to highlight the variety of services & projects at a glance.

5 Design & presentation update

The next stage of the design & presentation layer has been added to the initiative.

This is the addition since the major design overhaul of the initiatives including and updated logo & design presentation for the featured projects. This an additional design layer to enhancement to promote the initiative overall and it us will be also be develop to navigate into the different elements of the initiative. This will mainly be seen as the main promotional materials and it appear with some of the information & project snapshot templates on social media posts.

More to come

Further information & project snapshot to be developed with customised variations across the five associated conditions (Autism, ADHD, Social Anxiety, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia). Also all of the new image snapshot will be represented further onto different sizes.

A family of prototype awareness materials

A new family of prototype materials has been developed. Each materials are examples of types of services and products for Plus Value Awareness along with Differences & Autism Challenge.

It is developed with a non-stigmatising and an unique approach towards smarter awareness with more relevant information guides and support materials related to independent and intelligent adults and young people with invisible related difficulties. (High Functioning Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Social Anxiety). Focusing more on the human aspects and not generalised content related to a specific condition.

The family of materials developed ranges from education & training, relationship guidelines through to personal development tools and a survival guide.

The examples of materials include:

Sustainable

A twenty-page relationship and interaction guide to enable smarter understanding along with concise knowledge. This can lead to not only to enable a sustainable relationship with the person with invisible difficulties but also to able to bring the best of them.

Sense of Value

A twenty-page education and training document which informing the conditions, how life effects them in summary. Also how what you need to be aware of and what you need to consider to make sure a person with invisible difficulties can be a benefit to you and society.

Forwards

A comprehensive survival guide for invisible difficulties with information guides and items to consider to make sure they maintain their sense of value and belonging. This twenty page document enables the affected to cope and many issues which affect their lives and what do at different stages which may be challenging.

Connect

A family personal development tools and references for invisible difficulties to assist them to be self driven on specific skills and qualities which many other take for granted including assertiveness, and make a self-review & to create planners to keep track on the current situations.

It has taken a couple of months of research and development along with another months in designing and publishing the prototype materials. Further amendments and modifications to be made further till the finalised version are published.

All materials can be customised and specialised to deferent life balance groups along with the relevant environment. This means each publications can be tailor to everyone needs, situations and circumstances.

These prototypes materials are planed to be shared at networking and business gatherings as part of strategy to generate interest to initiatives projects and potential services.
